Over 80 Aurora families and households are facing a food crisis every month, every week and every day. Despite food stamps, many parents do not have enough food to feed their children, much less themselves. For over 30 years, the Aurora Food Pantry, a program of the Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio, has been providing families with food that makes the difference between adequate nutrition and desperation.
Currently, high unemployment, family health problems and other crises, have swelled the number of families needing help to record highs. Unfortunately, the supply of necessary food has dwindled because traditional food donators are struggling with needs of their own. Food2Share™, a ministry partner of Christ Community Chapel – Aurora Campus, has been designed to work with local organizations and businesses to provide an increased supply of food that will help meet the increased demand. Donations to Food2Share support VOA’s Aurora Food Pantry.
