In the five municipality area lumped together as Nordonia, more than 2,500 people are unsure where their next meal is coming from and when that might be. Of those, more than half are minors who are part of the free or reduced-cost lunch program because their households are near the federal poverty guidelines.
With the loss of over $190 million in direct SNAP benefits, those family’s needs are increased. Food2Share™, an outreach of the Good Shepherd Christian Church, has designed a program to work with local organizations and businesses to provide an increased and consistent supply of food to help meet the increased demand.
Donations to Food2Share™ go directly to the Emergency Assistance Center in Macedonia which has been providing food, clothing and personal hygiene items to the Nordonia area for over 20 years.
