Twinsburg’s Need for Food Donations Is Real

The Twinsburg area has over 1,700* people who are not sure where their next meal is coming from. About 900 minor children are part of the free or reduced lunch program because they live in households that are near the federal poverty guidelines.

This problem is only going to get worse, as in Ohio 193 million dollars in direct SNAP (food stamp) benefits will be lost as of November 1, 2013. By the third week each month, most SNAP households will have run through their monthly benefits. The food need is real! Food donations are far too low. Food2Share™, a ministry of Christ the King Lutheran Church, has designed a program to work with local organizations and businesses, to provide an increased supply of food that will help meet the increased demand. Donations to Food2Share™ support The Emergency Assistance Center food pantry, which has been providing food, clothing and personal hygiene items to Twinsburg area citizens for over 20 years.
